For the last ten years, Bones Skatepark- Stockport, has kept Manchesters heads rolling . At the end of this week, bones is to close if the lease of these premises can't be signed over.If this facility is to close it will leave a massive hole in Manchester's already repressed skate scene,as if it ain't enough we can be prosecuted for rolling in manchester!! Apart from catering for skaters, the park has also seen artists such as Banksy, Kelzo, Mes TCS and Gameovercrew decorate its walls and kill many productions. It is possible that under the correct managment, Bones could be regenerated from the dark few years gone, and become the worldwide reppin' park from the 'day of the rope' era, And with your support provide fresh turf for local heds such as Nick Lomax- IMYTA champ. we've seen many bad decisions made, many rollers banned (including Rick Cheetham, Frazer Watson and Nick Lomax), we want to take this back for manchester's skaters .Much Love. Help out by mailing back to Rick Cheetham or myself, Steve to show your support including your Name name: Organisation (if any) and email address: Copy this text to any other forums and forward to all your friends email addresses. We want to see Bones Skatepark preserved for the youth of Manchester and the skate Community worldwide. Your emailed support will help our cause !

 Here's an update...
I've made a proposal and financial offer to take over the lease of Bones Skatepark. I hope it's accepted but there are a few others interested and there's still the possibility that the premises owner may decide to re-develop. However, the response I've had from the Landlord's agent and from the current leaseholder is good towards Ukskate getting the park, we'll find out in the next few days I guess.

If we do get the park, you can bet than we'll be running it very well and there will be loads of improvements !

Watch this space, as they say

Here's another update 30/04/2007

I've had a message from the Owners representative and they say that they believe my offer is in the right ball park in financial terms and what we can do for the park.

I am having another meeting with them tommorow afternoon, after which I should know a definate yes or no as to whether Ukskate will be taking over the skatepark.

Here's another update 02/05/2007

Following My meeting yesterday, we have "unofficially agreed" Lease terms for UKskate to take over Bones Skatepark. The owners are now taking up references for Ukskate Ltd and drawing up a lease agreement. Assuming the references are accepted, the lease is acceptable and we can raise the required Funds to move ahead, then things should go ahead within the next 3 weeks. It's unlikely that any part of the park will be re-opened immeadiately upon our takeover though, as we have to at least get minimal required safety repairs completed before we can get Insurance cover for the place.
