 Ukskate have agreed terms with the premises owners and have now signed the lease and we are now in possession of Bones Skatepark ! I need some Help on 2 fronts.... 1. We have the funding available to have Ukskate takeover the lease of the skatepark. However, The cost of taking on the lease and deposits, advance rents, insurance etc means that we will have few funds left initially to make the improvements required to the parks equipment. We are making an appeal for local and National busineses to get involved with supporting the park through sponsorship of a ramp in the park. This can be by way of a cash donation for it's repair or by donating Materials required, ie Wood or Rails etc. The business or organisations which make a donation will then be able to display any advertising they wish on or above the ramp they sponsor for the life of the park. We've already had offers of sponsorship from a few companies, but more are required. This is a great marketing and PR opportunity for any company wishing to get involved. If you think you could help in any way, or you know someone who may be able to assist, please get in contact or forward this info to the person/organisation you know
2.The initial Phase of improvements in the park will need a lot of willing Volunteers to get their hands dirty !!! This will include, lots of cleaning and rubbish removal, Removing unwanted/Broken items, and taking down the old Kitchen area. We'll be getting dust removal equipment, Scaffold tower to get in the rafters, dust masks, Brooms, Lots of Bags, a few Skips etc and there will be a massive cleanup operation. Then we'll be painting throughout.
If you are willing to come down to the park over the next few weeks and Volunteer to give a hand cleaning up the place prior to the Ramp repairs being carried out by a team of Ramp builders, Please get in touch by phoning 0161-248-5566 or if you know me personally, just txt me saying you want to help. Or just turn up at the park and volunteer. I'll be there weekends after midday and most Weekday afternoons and evenings over the next few weeks.
Ukskate will give you the same amount of time free skating as the time you put in helping out. (Once the park re-opens) Due to insurance reasons, no-one will be able to skate the park until the Work is completed and certified by our insurers. Also you will need to be over 14 and have your parents permission to help out with the cleanup operation.
