Whenever my wheels wear out I usually look for the cheapest set available, and I usually don’t spend more than £20 because I have found that a set of £30 wheels rarely outlast a set of £20 wheels. The BHC Eric Perket wheels were at the time available for £20 so I decided to try them out, having never rolled on BHC wheels before. The wheels arrived very promptly thanks to the UKSkate delivery service, and went straight on my skates. The wheels look good, with a black and red colour scheme, and a symmetrical pattern going around the wheel (although any print usually wears off within the first few days of skating!). Whenever I buy new wheels, I feel I should praise them as much as possible due to the fact that new wheels simply make your skates feel so much better. No flatspots, no bumps, just a smooth roll. Because there are relatively few street spots in my area, I chose to skate park with them first. At 88a the wheels are relatively soft and grippy compared to most (92a) wheels that I buy. They were great in park, rolling extremely smoothly and gaining me much more speed than my previous (rather battered) mindgame DLs. Overall a very grippy wheel. The main problem with soft wheels is that they tend to wear down a lot quicker, whereas harder wheels last longer (but eventually crack and being to chunk). These wheels lasted me the ENTIRE BRITISH WINTER, and let me tell you that that is not an easy thing to do! After about 7 months of skating, these wheels began to show the tell-tale signs of death, with cracks along the circumference of the wheels, and chunks missing from the edges, so it was time for new wheels. Ended up with some reduced 4x4 Brian Shima wheels, which are holding up great so far but are nowhere near as grippy as the BHC’s. Overall an excellent wheel, with great durability and grip. And at an unbelievable price!
