Ukskate.com recently took over ownership of the Former Bones Skatepark in Stockport, Manchester, Cheshire.

The Park had suffered from poor maintenance in previous years and the previous owners finally closed the Park in May 2007.

The Park will be open again from Friday 29th June from 4pm to 10pm. Opening hours after that will be 10AM to 10PM Monday to Saturday and 10AM to 8PM on Sundays.
As some work will still be carried out in certain sections over the next 1-2 months, we will have a reduced entrance charge until the Official Opening celebration Weekend on the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Charges until August Bank Holiday will be :-
£3 for upto 3 hours and £6 for an all day session.
If you are a good Graffiti artist or indeed any other kind of artist and would like to put your artwork on one of the newly re-painted walls in the park, please get in touch or just come down to the park any day from 1pm to 8pm which is when I'm at the park working currently.
If you have any joinery/woodworking/electrical skills and can spare some time to volunteer over the next few weeks, please get in touch or come down to the park.

All other jobs are completed and the park is CLOSED TO ALL SKATERS UNTIL IT RE-OPENS ON 29TH JUNE at 4pm !

We have some more major changes planned, some of which will be completed before the park re-opens and others which will be completed by later this summer in time for the Winter season
We will also be moving the entire Ukskate HQ to the skatepark Premises. The shop walls have now been built and we are starting to fit out the shop area ready to re-locate
The Park has been re-named "Ukskate-Park" though many old school skaters will I'm sure call it Bones forever

If you are a company or an individual and would be interested in sponsoring ramps/obstacles in the park in return for banner and/or stencil advertising for the next 6 years of our lease, please get in contact or forward this info to any person/organisation you know who may wish to help, Thanks

The skatepark is made up of 3 large Units which are interconnected.

Unit 1 contains mostly smaller equipment which is primarily but not exclusively aimed at beginners and skateboarders. Ukskate have already made some very significant improvements to this area. There is a small Miniramp approx 1metre high and 3metres wide. There are 2 flatbanks, a few smallish Quarterpipes, a low curved rail, a long low Square edged Grind box with a high Coping edged back, and a small square "Ollie Box" on top of one centre area. We have also commenced work on a new section in this area where we have knocked down the old Kitchen wall to create more room. This will have a flatbank and quarter pipe at one end, with a Quarterpipe at the other end. In bteween will be a number of "Moveable" obstacles including various shapes grindboxes with coping and/or Square edges, Curved and Triangle Kickers/launch boxes, and P-Rails etc

Unit 2 is the Street area with larger ramps, A big flat bank rollin, centre fun Box with an array of Grind Boxes, Rails etc (much more to come in this area), a Big Quarter to Quarter wall ride Transfer, a Flat bank at the base of the wall ride, A large Spined Ramp and 2 more Quarter Pipes.

Unit 3 (Downstairs) is the Transitions and "real street" area. This houses an infamous Peanut shaped Skatebowl with a Round deep end and a round shallow end. There is a large 6ft Half pipe approx 6metres Wide which has a 2 ft sub box with coping along one side and a 1 ft square edged Sub box along the other side. There is a Flat bank transfer from the halp pipe to an unusual Dual Height Vert/Midi Ramp. This has an 11ft Vert on one side and an 8ft Midi on the other side, Great for those Huge airs !
There are transfer opportunities between the Vert/Midi and Halfpipe and from there in to the Bowl if you are feeling Brave !

There is a Jump Box which currently has a 7ft Quarter pipe at one end and a 15ft Wall Ride Quarter at the other end, though this will be changed and improved in plans coming soon.

The "real Street" area has a 12 foot long Street Rail down a flat Bank and a 15ft long High Ledge down the same flat Bank. This will soon change to have a longer mellower Flat Bank with an adjustable height Rail 15ft long and a Ledge on both the left and right hand side of the Bank. The rail can be inter-changed with a square rail for Skateboard events etc.

The Floor in this area is a smooth concrete, whereas the rest of the park is all plywood flooring. This area has a fixed 4 metre long rail approx 1.5 ft high fixed to the floor. In the next few months, we will be adding 30 ft long ledges along both sides of this area. One will be made similar to Urbis ledge height and the other similar to Castlefield ledge height, in order to simulate use of the most popular street skating places in Manchester.

We have many more plans to improve the park and will be continually upgrading areas of the park to keep it fresh and give the skatepark users new challenges.

Who I'd like to meet:
All Skatepark Users - Our skatepark welcomes Rollerbladers, Skateboarders and BMXers etc. You can even ride your Heelys and Scooters if that's your thing ;)

Also event organisers, Promoters, sponsors, Manufacturers, skatepark builders and anyone else who could help in putting this skatepark amongst the Uk's best, with the best equipment, best events, best facilities etc, etc.
